Guess what did I find in Rome
So there was some international shopping festival where handicrafts from all over the world were on exhibition- East to West.
And finding this image there was an absolute pleasant tickle.
Only if the vendor could speak English I would have shared my joy!
Every face, every shop, bedroom window, public-house, and dark square is a picture feverishly turned--in search of what?
ReplyDeleteA face in the window,
Without a name.
A face in the window,
Wants to play a game.
A face in the window,
With bangles in hand.
A face in the window,
How long will the game last?
When you get what you want in your struggle for self
ReplyDeleteAnd the world makes you princess for a day
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself
And see what that woman has to say.
For it isn’t your father, or mother, or partner
Whose judgment upon you must pass
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one staring back from the glass.
She’s the fellow to please – never mind all the rest
For she’s with you, clear to the end
And you’ve passed your most difficult, dangerous test
If the woman in the glass is your friend.
You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass
But your final reward will be heartache and tears
If you’ve cheated the woman in the glass.
